East Midlands Reserve Forces and Cadets Association (East Midlands RFCA) is one of 13 autonomous Tri-Service bodies, established as Crown Agencies by Act of Parliament to support the Reserve Forces and Cadets throughout the UK. The RFCAs are not part of the military chain of command but they are required to give advice and assistance to the Defence Council and the three Services on Volunteer Reserve and Cadet matters. East Midlands RFCA covers the area from just below Doncaster down to Northampton and from Buxton in the Dales right across to the East Coast.

The Association has responsibilities in the areas of employer support, cadets and youth, recruiting support and management of the estate of 170 Reserve and Cadet properties.

The Association also has a responsibility to promote the Armed Forces within society in the East Midlands through engagement with the Government, local authorities, employers, youth organisations, chambers of commerce, the media and other influential groups. The aim of this engagement is to promote a wider understanding of the roles and needs of the Armed Forces in general and of the Volunteer Reserve and Cadet Forces in the East Midlands in particular.

John Wilson,

John is responsible for delivering a coherent employer engagement programme aimed at establishing enduring relationships with employers and employer organisations in order to raise awareness of the Reserve Forces and to encourage employers to support Defence personnel. He provides information, advice and guidance on all aspects of employing Reservists and in so doing works closely with the Defence's Regional Employer Engagement Board and all Reserve Forces in the East Midlands.
